Rabbi Shaul Leiter, Director of Ascent, is a New York native. He became observant and entered yeshiva in Brooklyn after graduating from Cornell University (B.S. Nutrition) in 1976. He came to IsraelNation of the Jewish People in 1978 to focus on his rabbinic studies and soon after married and settled in TzfatOne of the 4 Holy Cities. In 1984, he co-founded Ascent, using his newly gained knowledge and teaching ability to share the wealth of JudaismThe religion of the Jewish people with backpackers in the Holy Land. Rabbi LeiterDirector of Ascent now lives with his family in the Givat Shoshanna community of TzfatOne of the 4 Holy Cities, and continues to expand Ascent, which now serves
70,000 in TzfatOne of the 4 Holy Cities and IsraelNation of the Jewish People, and will soon become the official TzfatOne of the 4 Holy Cities Kabbalah Visitors Center.
