Rachel's Tomb

Rachel's Tomb, also known as the Dome of Rachel, is an ancient structure believed to be the burial place of the biblical matriarch Rachel,  located just south of Jerusalem, on the outskirts of Bethlehem.   The tomb is considered the third holiest site in Judaism.  It is also viewed as the symbol of the return of the Jewish people to its ancient homeland.  The shrine has been increasingly associated with fertility and many women go to pray there for a successful childbirth.
